Concord Yacht Club supports sailing instruction for all age groups. A month-long sail camp each summer teaches kids ages 8 to 15 how to sail and race for a week at a time. High school students in the Knoxville area participate in high school sailing and travel throughout the southeast to regattas. The University of Tennessee Sailing Club is based out of CYC, using 12 boats to teach UT students how to sail and hosting regattas each year. Adult learn-to-sail classes teach East Tennessee adults of all ages how to sail. Concord Sailing Center, or CSC, is the educational arm of CYC.
Racing is a big part of CYC's activities and provide an organized way to foster a lifelong love of sailing. Auxiliary boats, which are large boats with a cabin and motor, race almost year round on Sundays. Dinghies, or small sailboats with a centerboard, race on Wednesdays in the spring and fall and on Sundays throughout the warmer months.
Concord Yacht Club is accepting new members and is the best and most cost-effective way to enjoy sailing in the Knoxville area. Please contact us with questions about facility rental, joining CYC, educational opportunities, or other questions.
